Alamelu

Alamelu is the goddess, who is believed to be the incarnation of Lakshmi. Devotees Of Alamelu recite the name of their beloved goddess by other names also such as Padmavathi, Alarmelmagnai and Alemelmangai. Alarmelmagnai means they are revering Goddess who is seated on Lotus. Alamelu means they are reciting the name of the gentle Goddess.

It is believed that the father of Alamelu was Akasha Raja and later she married to Vakateshwera.

According to Enkatachala Mahatyam Alamelu is the infinite source of love and Kindness. She Incarnated as the golden lotus.

Alamelu Mangapuran temple in Thiruchanoor in the suburb of Tirupati City considered as the main abode in Goddess Alamelu. There is a tradition followed by the devotees, they visit  the temple Trumpet Balaji  to have the divine glimpse of Vankateswara must visit the temple of Padmavathi offer obeisance to Alamelu. It is not surprising that, from the long time, these revered temples attracts millions of devotees each year.

Alamelu manifested as a golden lotus in Padmasarovaram in Pushkarini. According to Mahatyam, The lotus has not blossomed without the assistance of Suryanarayana. This is the reason that a temple dedicated to Lord Suryanarayana is found on the eastern side of Pushkarini.
