According to Hindu Mythological tale, once Indra, king of Gods showed
disrespect to the powerful sage Durvasa. This incident infuriated the
sage and he cursed Indra. As a result, Indra lost his strength. When
demon Bali came to know about this. He attacked war against the gods
with Indra and defeated him. Indra then went to Vishnu for the help.
Vishnu advised Indra and Gods to churn the ocean and get the nectar from
the ocean.
Vishnu incarnated as the Mohini to duped demons and gave nectar to the Gods. Meanwhile, when Shiva saw Mohini, he was mesmerized by the beauty of Mohini. When Vishnu came to know about the Shiva’s infatuation, he immediately came in his usual form. This unpleasant event made Shiva annoyed and opened his third eye(eye of destruction). The heated rays of the Shiva gave birth to the demon Krodasura.
Krodhasura then pray to Sun to seek his blessings. Pleased with devotion of Krodhasura, Sun had given him the boon that he would become a powerful king. After getting the boon, he started threatening Gods. Terrified Gods, prayed to Ganesha to help them at the time of crises and get their Kingdom back. Ganesha appeared in front of Gods in the form of Lambodra (Large stomach) and assured them that he would solve their problem.
