God Ganesha - Ekadanta

Many Decades ago, there was the sage Chyavana. He had created a boy with the power of his severe penance and named him  Madasura that literally means ‘Pride’. When Madasura grew up, he had the desire to conquer the whole universe and thus with the permission of his father, he went to his uncle Shukracharya. Sukracharya was very powerful Demon’s teacher and priest. He advised Madasura to chant the Mantra’Hrim’. Madasura chanted this mantra for thousands of years to invoke the blessings of Shakti.

Finally, Shakti, appeared and gave him the boon for the fulfillment of all his desires. Thereafter the Madasura went on the mission of conquering the three worlds. At the end he succeeded in his mission and became the ruler of all the three worlds.

In Madasura’s kingdom, there was no place of  moral virtues and rightness. Later, he married to the daughter of Pramada Asura’s daughter Saalasa. The couple had three children Vilasi, Lolupa and Dhanapriya.

Gods were very worried with increasing power and dreadful acts of Madasura. All Gods decided that they should approach Sanat Kumara to seek the advice of Sanatkumara to overcome their dilemma. He advised them to pray for Ekadanta to seek his protection.

Sanat Kumara also described the glory of Ekadanta thus "Eka” stands for Illusion (Maya) and “Danta” stands for Truth (Satya).

Ekadanta thus represents the incarnation of Ganesha who had taken this form to give the message of ultimate truth that can help to get rid of illusions.

On the advice of Santkumara, Gods started praying for Ekdanta for thousands of years. Ekdanta was pleased with the devotion of Gods and thus appeared before Gods and assured them that he would remove their miseries.

Saint Narada gave news to Madasura that Ekdanta had given the boon to Gods and later he advised Madasura to fought a war against Ekadanta. M Many Decades ago, there was the sage Chyavana.
